Hello friends, I’m Mak!  I’m the designer and owner of Art and Sol. This venture started out of the overwhelming need to create. Art and Sol brings life to the mundane by producing one of a kind pieces, connecting with my community and we ultimately aim to inspire other artists to follow their heart. 

Growing up as an only child I spent a lot of time crafting. What started as a hobby with children’s toys, slowly took over my weekends in high school with extreme birthday gifts. At that time, most of my money was invested into art supplies, projects and classes to learn about other mediums with the hopes of combining skills down the road. Finally I realized my gift was being able to make everyday items reflect my personality. 

My love for learning and my competitive drive will ensure that Art & Sol will continue to grow and evolve as I do. Many people have classified my artistic approach as Realism, because I hyper focus on details to emphasize the accuracy of my subjects. My style reflects heavy botanical influences, in conjunction with nature scenes, animals and mandala elements.

Historically, the art industry was a male dominated field. Now, more than ever, we are seeing an influx of women joining in and I plan to become a major contributor. Although I worked a leather production job for several years, my goal is to continue to add to my repertoire of artist media.

Whenever I get the opportunity to blend the skills I’ve learned from various media into one work of art, that is when I really shine. I absolutely love pushing myself, getting out of my comfort zone and using tools unconventionally. The goal is to follow my heart by only creating things that fulfill me personally, and know that if I don't love it, I won't make it!
